Self-taught and yes I sometimes use patterns I buy. Then I make the patterns my own with flourishes. Or I figure out how to make my own.
Wordsmithing
Yes, I eventually went to school for this. I’ve also read many great writers’ lessons and advice. Find what fits you.
Woodwork
Self-taught. I find instructions to help me build things. Sometimes I take the time to figure out how to do things on my own.
